Eat
Indulge your taste buds in Birmingham, the UK city boasting the most Michelin stars outside of London. Beyond the culinary accolades, Birmingham is renowned for its iconic Balti. Explore a diverse array of restaurants, each catering to varied tastes and budgets, just a short walk or a quick taxi ride away from the International Convention Centre. Don't miss the opportunity to savour Birmingham's famous curry scene; we recommend a tantalizing experience at Dishoom, a mere two-minute stroll from the convention centre. Alternatively, venture on a 10-minute walk to Asha’s, the restaurant that once hosted Tom Cruise during Mission Impossible filming.
Drink
For a sensational sip, discover the magical concoctions at Alchemist, 40 St Pauls, The Botanist or The Loft. Immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of Brindleyplace or the charming canal sides just outside the convention centre where there are plenty of pubs and bars to be found. Alternatively, explore the city centre’s plethora of bars and pubs just a few minutes’ walk away.
Entertainment
In the realm of entertainment, Birmingham is a cultural haven. Attend the enchanting performance of French Fantasies by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra on 9 May at 7.30pm. The Birmingham Rep Theatre presents the timeless classic Withnail and I during the conference dates, while the Birmingham Hippodrome hosts the Welsh National Opera's rendition of Cosi fan tutte on 10 May. For a visually captivating experience, unwind at the Everyman cinema in the Mailbox, just a brief five-minute walk from the convention centre. If you're a music enthusiast, catch Olivia Rodrigo's world tour at the Utilita Arena on 10 May, or revel in live music at Jam House, a mere 15-minute stroll from the convention centre. Seeking laughter? Head to the Glee Club for a night of comedic brilliance.

Shop
Embark on a shopping spree at the Bullring & Grand Central, the largest shopping centre under one roof in Europe. This retail paradise includes the iconic Selfridge's store, the colossal Primark, and the grandeur of Greggs. For a more personalised shopping experience, explore the Mailbox, home to Harvey Nichols or wander through the Jewellery Quarter. And for the perfect gift for loved ones, swing by Mr Simms Olde Sweet shop in the charming Great Western Arcade in the heart of the city centre.
Run
Rise and shine early birds! If the idea of a morning run is your thing, and you happen to be staying near the heart of the city, we've got the perfect route for you. Lace up those running shoes, hit the canals, and make a beeline for the Gas Street Basin nestled at the base of the Mailbox (inside which is Medicine, a bakery deli for your post-run carbs). From there, let the canal guide you on a scenic journey out of the urban hustle and towards the University.
