The fellowship in Obstetrical-Anaesthesiology at Magee-Womens Hospital (MWH) is a 12 month program designed to provide advanced experience and training in all aspects of Obstetric-Anaesthesiology including research, administration, and clinical management of the complex obstetrical-gynaecological patient. The fellow will become an experienced consultant in providing analgesia and anaesthesia to the normal and high-risk pregnant patient.

Magee-Womens Hospital (MWH) is a tertiary care medical centre specializing in the treatment of women. MWH has over 10,000 deliveries per year with a >90% neuraxial placement rate. MWH has a 22-bed labour and delivery suite with an adjacent 5-bed OB intensive care unit and a 14-room surgical operating arena located above the labour and delivery suite for ambulatory and in-patient procedures. MWH Anesthesiologists are recognized nationally as specialists in Obstetric-Anaesthesiology and for their teaching expertise.

The MWH Department of Anaesthesia is affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and is an integral part of the University of Pittsburgh Department of Anaesthesia/Critical Care Medicine.
