General

This clinical fellowship is aimed at the anaesthetists in training who would like to be a lead anaesthetist for labour ward. It covers the fundamentals of labour ward management. By the end of the fellowship the anaesthetist in training should have an understanding of the CNST (Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts) process, an insight into risk management and guideline / protocol writing. The anaesthetist in training will also be expected to teach on the PrOMPT (practical obstetric multi-professional training) course, having attended it as a candidate.

Clinical

The trainee will participate in an on call rota, primarily covering obstetrics.

Hospital

We have approximately 4,000 deliveries a year and have a level 2 neonatal unit.
